New Clients

  1. Create a profile for your child using your email / phone number. Please include caregiver’s name / contact in emergency contact information. You do not need to create your own account.

  2. Please book all appointments in your child’s name.

  3. Choose Complementary initial phone consultation option before booking your first speech therapy session. We will discuss your needs and choose the session that best fits your family. If you don’t see a time that works for you, please email me for other options at dionne@playwithintention.com

  4. Once we have spoken, you will be able to book all future appointments online

Before booking, please note:

  1. Most in-person appointments take place in my clinic in the Calgary community of Oakridge SW. Address will be provided after booking. I have limited home visits in your home depending on time and location

  2. My clinic is in the basement of my home which has a flight of stairs to access (7 steps)

  3. In case pet allergies are a concern, I have a dog and a cat in my home. They can not access the clinic during the session but may be in the space during non-work hours.

  4. I do not currently offer evening or weekend appointments.

I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 25 years and am registered in the province of Alberta (ACSLPA) and with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC).

I believe that doing anything with intention can have a powerful impact. This includes play - our sessions are fun! Activities are planned to focus on building specific speech or language skills, while understanding that everyone approaches life a little differently. Sometimes we have to bend the plan a little (or toss it out completely) for success! My ultimate goal is to help children develop the confidence to try something new and then work with families to discover how to build these emerging skills into everyday routines, in ways that make sense for you and your life. At the end of the day, I want caregivers to have the confidence to intentionally support your children in doing their “job” of play and exploration in a way that helps to grow their speech and language skills.

I currently offer support for:

Early Intervention / Early Language Development for children aged 2 months to 5 years

• “Late talkers”

• Babble Bootcamp: Coaching for parents of babies and toddlers 2-24 months who are at-risk for developing language delays

• Expressive and receptive language delays (using and understanding language)

Speech Sound Disorders / Delays for children age 2 years to school age

• some / many sounds and words are difficult to say clearly

• speech is hard to understand, especially for less familiar listeners
